The National Charkha Museum, situated in Delhi, is a window to the great heritage of Indian Charkha, embodying the philosophy of self-reliance.
To enhance their awareness on the Indian Charkha and to instill a sense of nationalism, MPS’ pre-primary IB PYP explorers visited the Charkha Museum on 19 November. The young minds of MPS acquired rich knowledge from the museum’s showcase of 14 vintage charkhas and an in-depth understanding of the journey from Yarn to Khadi clothes. The students also enlightened themselves by learning about Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi’s lifestyle and principles of non-violence and truth – the knowledge through which the students will make informed choices and improve their codes of behavior in the future. The open-minded explorers also used the Charkha to get a better understanding on how it works.
