Madam Principal, Dr. Alka Kapur Official, and TeamMPS are in Azerbaijan for an International Cultural Exchange Program. Here's a report on the FIRST EVER cultural and academic exchange program to take place in any school in Azerbaijan.
CulturalExchange (Days 1-2):
The cultural and academic exchange program between ModernPublicSchool in Delhi, India, and Evrika Liseyi, a top school in Baku, Azerbaijan, was an enriching experience for the principals and faculty of both institutions. Over the first two days, the teams had the opportunity to learn about each other's lifestyles, cultural traditions, food, religions, and festivals.
The Indian delegates shared insights into the vibrant and diverse culture of India. They showcased the rich heritage of Indian festivals like Diwali, Holi, and Dussehra, explaining the significance and rituals behind these celebrations. The Azerbaijani teachers were fascinated to learn about the unity in diversity that exists in India, with its numerous languages, cuisines, and customs. In return, the Azerbaijani educators introduced their counterparts to the unique culture of their country. The visits to captivating architecture and historic sites in cities like Gabala and Sheki were awe-inspiring. The Indian teachers were amazed to learn about the blend of Islamic, European, and Soviet influences that shape the cultural fabric of Azerbaijan.
Both groups also had the opportunity to sample the traditional cuisines of each other's countries. The Indians relished the flavors of classic Azerbaijani dishes like plov, dolma, and baklava, while the Azerbaijanis enjoyed the Indian sweets and savories. The cultural exchange program fostered a deeper understanding and appreciation of the similarities and differences between the two countries, laying the foundation for lasting friendships and future collaborations.
As the school will reopen on Monday, the focus of the exchange program will shift to academic discussions and the sharing of best practices. The faculty from both institutions will engage in in-depth discussions on various pedagogical approaches, including interdisciplinary teaching methods.
