Students constructed a potato osmometer to demonstrate water molecules' movement by osmosis between solutions of different concentrations as part of the Backyard Science activity. Through this activity, they understood the difference between a hypertonic, hypotonic and an isotonic solution.
Students also enjoyed constructing a simple Osmometer using materials available at home and could also list the applications of osmosis in day-to-day plant life.
