Class VII students performed various activities based on respiration in their Backyard Science Activity. Each class was divided into groups and each group participated in several activities including presentations, role play and hands-on activities on breathing mechanisms, using bottles, balloons, straws and rubber sheets.
The other group demonstrated how lime water turns milky in the presence of carbon dioxide.
Through these backyard activities, the students understood the concept of respiration in human beings, different breathing mechanisms and the gases involved in the process.
Students thoroughly enjoyed the hands-on experience while performing these activities, which will help them understand the concepts in depth and will further hone their creative skills and improve their scientific temperament.
