Title : Eco Walkathon
An ‘Eco #Walkathon’ dedicated to the mission of clean India was organised today by the students & staff members of Modern Public School at Connaught Place. The event was flagged off by Ms. Nadia Rasheed, Deputy Resident Representative at the United Nations Development Programme, India.
The aim for organising this Walkathon was to spread awareness and support the ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’. Calling out slogans ‘Plastic hatao dharti bachao’ and ‘Paryavaran bachana hai, plastic waste hatana hai’, #modernites marched forward actively distributing paper bags to the people and urging them to discourage the use of plastic bags.
Ms. Nadia Rasheed highly appreciated #MPS for its active participation in ‘Plastic Lao, Thaila Pao’ campaign and sensitized the audience to join this eco-friendly cause. The commoners were also encouraged to take a pledge for ‘Green and Eco-friendly Diwali’. All the students and staff members participated in the rally with great vigour and enthusiasm.
